Our founder and CEO, Dr. Dave Thimons has been in geriatric care his entire career. He built the practice on a foundation of “personalized care” for his patients. His gold standard is to provide care that we would want for our own loved ones. PCMA teams aim to provide affirmation, reflection and goal based care that is led through trust. We show up, we listen and we become a part of the fabric of the care settings and patients we serve.
After Dr. Thimons’ daughter, Kaelyn “Rose” was diagnosed with stage IV Ewing Sarcoma at age 12, she was given excellent palliative medicine. He saw first hand how the palliative medical team helped Kaelyn and wanted to bring this same service to his geriatric patients. Once Kaelyn won her battle, Dr. Thimons went on to study palliative medicine. He has spent the last decade building services and clinical teams to help seniors dealing with serious illness. His work has spanned across hundreds of markets through hundreds of clinicians and he has proven the overarching value to his partners in all settings.
PCMA has affectionately named the supportive medicine practice, The “Rose Program”, after his daughter. This program has proven dramatic value to its partners – so much so, it has more than quadrupled in the last year.
